Dear Sir or Madam,

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 I would like to request
the following information with regard to Cardiff Central Bus
Station:

1. What period of notification did your organisation receive from
Cardiff Council that the Cardiff Central Bus Station would be
permanently reduced in size?
2. Has Cardiff Council shared with your organisation any plans
(provisional or otherwise) for Cardiff Central Bus Station? Please
provide details about these plans.
3. As an orgnisation how many complaints have you received from
staff regarding the reduction in Cardiff Central Bus Station and
the new bus routes including laying over at John Lewis?

Dear Mr Townsend

Further to my email of 10^th February 2010 regarding your request under
the Freedom of Information Act 2000, please find below our responses to
your specific queries.

1. Period of notification received from Cardiff Council regarding
permanent reduction in the size of Cardiff Central Station:

To the best of our knowledge and recollection, the bus station first
reduced in size from 6 May 2008. We become aware that this was going to
happen at a meeting in October 2007. This meeting was attended by all
other bus operators that make use of the bus station including
Stagecoach, First Group and National Express. Unfortunately, we are not
able to recall the exact date in October.

2. Has Cardiff Council shared with Cardiff Bus any plans
(provisional or otherwise) for the Cardiff Central Bus Station:

We have seen plans for a revised stand A on the site of the current bus
station and the suggested bus station on the south side of the railway
station, but these have in strict confidence.

3. The Number of complaints received from staff regarding the
reduction in Cardiff Central Bus Station and the new bus routes including
laying over at John Lewis:

We have had discussions and comments from our Trade Union Representatives
about the reduced size of the Central Bus Station as well as the lay
over arrangements at John Lewis which we have taken on board but we have
no record of formal complaints from staff directly on the subject
matter.
