Dear Mr White,

Thank you for your email of 4th August making a request under the Freedom
of Information Act and below is the Council's response to the questions
whihc you have asked:-

1) How many planning applications have you received featuring a change
of use from A1?

From searching our records, it would appear that 63 planning applications
were submitted for the period 1st January 2004 to 20th August 2009 which
featured a change of use from A1 Class.

2) Of those applications in 1, how many of these were retrospective?

Of the 63 planning applications none were retrospective.

3) How many planning applications have you received from Starbucks (or
their representatives) featuring a change of use from A1?
This Council has received no planning applications from Starbucks for the
period identified in Question 1.
4) Of those applications in 3, how many of these were retrospective?

Not applicable.

I am also required to advise you that should you not be happy with this
response then you may ask for an internal review of this decision. That
review would be carried out using the mechanism of the Council's
Complaints Procedure, details of which are attached, but the decision will
be taken applying the Freedom of Information Act legislation and codes of
practice.

If you are unsuccessful in that internal review you would of course then
have the option of applying to the Government's Information Commissioner
under section 50 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to make a decision
as to whether the information should be disclosed by the Council.
