Dear Sir or Madam,
I believe you are an authority with planning responsibilities
(according to http://www.theplanningdirectory.co.uk/au...),
apologies if this is not the case.
Can you please let me know the following relating to planning
applications featuring a change of use from A1 (shop), under the
Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) Order 1987.
In the last 5 years:
1) How many planning applications have you received featuring a
change of use from A1?
2) Of those applications in 1, how many of these were
retrospective?
3) How many planning applications have you received from Starbucks
(or their representatives) featuring a change of use from A1?
4) Of those applications in 3, how many of these were
retrospective?
Yours faithfully,
Matt White

Dear Sir
In response to your request under the provisions of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000, I would like to inform you that requests for
environmental information will be exempted from being dealt with under the
FOIA (Section 39). The effect of this exemption is to ensure that a
request for Environmental Information is dealt with in accordance with the
Environmental Information Regulations (EIRs) 2004.
South Bucks District Council has received 24 applications within the last
5 years (dating back to 01/01/2004) that relate to a change of use from
A1. Out of these 11 were permitted, 10 refused and 3 withdrawn. None of
the above applications were retrospective. As far as we are aware, there
are only three Starbucks within South Bucks, the first is in Sainsbury's
in Beaconsfield, the second being in the new M40 motorway service
station Beaconsfield, and the third within Sainsbury's, Lake End Road,
Taplow. Therefore we have not received any change of use applications
from Starbucks or any retrospective applications from them. Please note
that there may be other applications included above where the site could
have been subsequently occupied by Starbucks, but as there is no
requirement to provide planning with occupier details we have no record of
these applications.
I hope this answers your questions but if you feel that it does not, you
can contact me with your queries. You also have the right to request an
internal review of your request and ultimately to complain to the
Information Commissioner should you still be unhappy with the outcome.
You should direct any queries or complaints to me before progressing any
complaint to the Information Commissioner. If you would like more
information about the role and work of the Information Commissioner go to
their website [1]www.ico.gov.uk.
Yours faithfully
Zoë Bloomfield
