PICT staff newsletters
A Freedom of Information request to House of Commons by Julian Todd
The request was partially successful.

Dear Sir or Madam,
Please could I have a copy of all newsletters circulated by the
Human Resources section of PICT (the Parliamentary Information
Communication and Technology Service) to the general staff of the
PICT department since it was founded on 1 January 2006?
Yours faithfully,
Julian Todd.

Dear Julian
Thank you for your request.
I have made an initial enquiry about what information PICT holds.
Apparently there is a general staff newsletter but it is circulated by
the comms team (not HR) and is sent out roughly fortnightly. Is it just
the HR content that you are interested in or any other specific topic or
can I take it that the request is for the whole newsletter ?
Yours sincerely
Bob

Dear FOICOMMONS,
Thanks for the reply. I have been delayed because I had to wait for
my colleague to add this "follow up message" feature into his
software (we skip the design stage and just build it).
Yes please. Copies of all those general staff fortnightly
newsletters circulated by the comms team sounds like it is exactly
what I am looking for. Thanks.
Yours sincerely,
Julian Todd.

Dear Julian Todd
Thank you, I look forward to seeing the new feature in operation on the
relevant pages.
To clarify further, I understand that there are around 50 editions of
the newsletter; I will ask a colleague to let me know the format in
which they are held and to assess the work involved in providing all of
them. However, it may be that you are only interested in the most
recent or those which cover particular topics or aspects of PICT's work.
Therefore, I should be grateful if you could confirm the extent of your
request.
Yours sincerely

Dear Bob Castle,
I presume they are either in an email-friendly format (text), or a
printer-friendly format (PDF), either of which should be easy to
send in bulk to this email address without taking time to sort them
out. Perhaps they are in a single directory and can be zipped into
one file.
Even so, the best result would be to post them all up on the PICT
website and send me the link.
Failing that, just send me as many as are easily found at present,
and I can always make a further request if there are any gaps.
Yours sincerely,
Julian Todd.

Dear Julian Todd
The majority of newsletters are in PDF only while some are held in word
format. All are general in nature and contain personal data relating to
private as well as business activities and may therefore require editing
before any disclosure to the general public can be made.
A response to your request will be made on or before 8 February 2008.
Yours sincerely

Dear Julian Todd
In order to further clarify the information held by the House of
Commons, I have some material to send to you in relation to your
request. However, it is not appropriate for this to be automatically
republished on your website.
Therefore, I should be grateful if you could send me an alternative
email address for correspondence that does not automatically republish
responses and attachments onto the internet.
Yours sincerely
