Stuart Hardwicke CARRUTHERS made this Freedom of Information request to Prime Minister’s Office
Waiting for an internal review by Prime Minister’s Office of their handling of this request.
From: Stuart Hardwicke CARRUTHERS
14 December 2008
Dear sir or madam
A very large number of petitions have been submitted to the Prime
Minister through the e-petitions web site
(http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/).
On how many occasions has the response made by the Prime Minister
to a petition involved consultation with another organization (i.e.
government department, independent statutory bodies, etc) that are
often the subject of a petition.
Please identify by organization the number of responses made by the
Prime Minister to each petition, and if there was consultation
resulting in the formation of a record (excluding the
Primeminister's actual response to a petition), the petitions to
which these records relate.
Yours faithfully

Mr Carruthers,
Could I please clarify that you are requesting an internal review and
not making a refined request for petitions in which the response has
involved consultation with the Commission for Local Administration in
England and/or Office of the Local Government Ombudsman?
Many thanks,
Rebecca Kingston

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am requesting an internal review and also took account of your
comments and sought to refine the request as this option was not
provided in your reply when refusing the request

Mr Carruthers,
The fact that your request for an internal review differs from the
original request makes it difficult for us to carry out an internal
review. We would appreciate it if you could clarify whether you would
like a review into your original request, or, if you would like to
refine the request.
Kind Regards,
Rebecca Kingston

Dear Sir or Madam,
Could I request clarification then in relation to the Department Of
Communities and Local Government.
It is already known that they have made a mistake in providing
information to the Prime Minister's Office. This is fully
identified here..
http://www.number10.gov.uk/Page17883
The petitioner was refused a remedy within the period that the
Prime Ministers Office stated: 'In all but a very few cases the
authority being investigated complies with the recommendations in
the Ombudsman’s report where maladministration is determined.
Indeed, for 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 there has been a 100%
compliance rate.'
