Dear Leicestershire Constabulary,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Leicestershire
Constabulary's handling of my FOI request 'Peter Creese:
Telecommunications Act'.
I'm not sure I understand why Section 40(2) has been applied to my
request.
Peter Creese's conviction was widely reported in the national
press, including the BBC.
Your own web site includes a press statement which names the
offender (Peter Creese), includes a colour photograph of his face,
gives his home location (Countesthorpe), his age (44), and states
that he pleaded guilty to 15 offences under the Telecommunications
Act (*).
So if you're concerned to protect personal data, it is rather late
in the day to effect concern for the Data Protection Act... and you
might wish to remove all of that data from your own web site (and
the newspaper reports) if so.
But I am not remotely interested in his personal details.
I am keen to understand, for the sake of transparency and
accountability, which specific sections of the Telecommunications
Act were contravened.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is
available on the Internet at this address:

Yours faithfully,
P. John
