I understand that naming convicted peodophiles is excempt under the

Dear Freedom of Information Team,
Thank you for your late profesional answer to my foi request,
unfortunately i have not as of yet found the answer to my
question... 'how many peodophiles are there in ANGLESEY',,, sorry
dangerous persons?.
What i have read so far from your response is actually quite
reasuaring that all that happens in anglesey is... dog fouling,
overgrown hedges, congregating of youths(bored kids), graffiti.
I also see that these dangerous persons are protected,
and that it will be very difficult for the normal every day to day
person like myself to know exactly where our children are safe to
play, the only persons in the know are...
•43 forces in England and Wales
•Police Service of Northern Ireland
•8 Scottish forces
•Serious Crime Analysis Section (SCAS)
•Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre
•Joint Border Operations Centre (JBOC)
•British Transport Police (BTP)
•HM Forces Service Police Crime Bureau
•Scottish Criminal Justice Social Work Organisations
•All Probation Service areas in England and Wales
•All Private and Public Sector Prisons in England and Wales
•Scottish Prison Service (SPS) Intelligence Bureau
I guess there children are safe and in the know, where not to play.
I could send a foi request to these organisations, but i have a
funny feeling that my answer will arrive late and end up being a
waste of time.
You did send this though... The current figures from ViSOR (the
Dangerous Persons Database) for the number of registered sex
offenders living in North Wales Police’s Western Divisional area
135, of which 30 are currently in custody. The Division is split
into 5 Districts; Anglesey, Bangor, Caernarfon, Pwllheli, and
Meirionnydd.
It would of been reasonable i think to of sent it for example...
Anglesey 25, Bangor 30, Caernarfon 30, Pwllheli 10, and Meirionnydd
15, in custody 30.
As you can see, we all know how many is in custody but we have no
idea how many in our area, in my opinion these people are protected
but our kids are not.
Yours sincerely,
lisa

are the remaining 105?.

Dear Lisa,
I acknowledge your email response to us dated 22nd July.
You state that what you have been sent is Crime statistics which is not what you want but ask us to put figures to the Western Areas; we are not totally clear on what you mean by figures; however our response to you remains unchanged.
We have a duty to assist you with your request. As a parent myself, I can understand your concerns regarding individuals who are commonly known as paedophiles and can understand why people would want to know exactly where the paedophiles live. There has been much publicity regarding the American system of 'Megan's law' where there is greater disclosure regarding the location of paedophiles ; we have chosen in this country not to fully go down that route. The paedophiles, who should be described by the more accurate term of registered sex offenders are however subject to a system of monitoring.
Whatever route you take through the current national Freedom of Information Process etc, you are not, as a concerned mother going to get to a position where we will disclose the addresses of registered sex offenders. Even if you had the total number for the whole of Anglesey, I would suggest that it would be of little use, it's a large geographical area and the figures would take no account of the large number of tourists on the Island, some of whom over the summer may be registered sex offenders on holiday.
North Wales is one of the safest places to live in the whole of the UK. If you want further reassurance, please make contact with ourselves here at the FOI Team. We can also put you in touch with your Neighborhood Policing officer who could visit and offer you advice and reassurance at a local level regarding registered sex offenders.

Dear Freedom of Information Team,
As you are not totally clear of what i mean when i say figures,
here is a quick run down...figures = 0123456789 10 or 20 30 40 50
60 70 80 90 100, i hope this claryfies the meaning of figures.
I am also happy to understand that you have a duty to assit with
our request, however, i do not recall asking for addresses of
peodophiles or names of them either.
You say that if i had the total number(figure) for anglesey it
would have little use to me, i totally dissagree with that, at the
moment i have no idea whether there is 1 or 50 peodophiles living
in anglesey, i did not want to know about tourists.
Now, how many convicted peodophiles are in the anglesey area, i do
not want to know there address i only want figures for areas of
anglesey, i.e. which villages or towns and how many.
I have chosen not to make physical contact but chosen to use an
open forum as this, where everyone who visits and reads this info
will know how many are living on our island, i think it is in the
public interest to know.
The acts of law and the sections within it are not read by myself,
so i do not understand whether sexual offender means... buttock
gropers, rapists etc etc, what i do understand is the english
dictionary which states that PEODOPHILE MEANS... an adult who is
sexually attracted to children, therefore please can you assist me
in my request for figures of peodophiles living in anglesey.
This request has taken over 20 days, all i want is how many
peodophiles are living on anglesey not there addresses.
Yours sincerely,
lisa

CONCLUSION TO MY FOI REQUEST ON 'HOW MANY PAEDOPHILES ARE IN ANGLESEY'.
There are 135 sexual offenders in north wales, 30 of which are in custody.
How many paedophiles are in anglesey? DONT KNOW.
How many paedophiles are in north wales? DONT KNOW
North wales police have failed to give me figures of paedophiles living in anglesey, not to mention north wales.
North wales police classify Paedophiles as sexual offenders.
The english dictionary states that a paedophile is an ADULT WITH A SEXUAL ATTRACTION TO CHILDREN
I think it is only fair for a reasonable person to infer that anglesey could possibly have an alarming number of paedophiles living here, who knows, there must be some reason they do not want the public to know the truth, or why make such an effort to hide it?.

Lisa,
Please find below an email from you dated 22th July 2009 that stated quite clearly that you did not want an internal review; the FOI processes are there for a reason, it is an abuse of the process to come back to an organization some 5 months after the closure of the file having changed one's mind.
We will not carry out a review; you have the option now of taking up the matter with the ICO office as per the attachment sent to you with the below response.
Unless we hear otherwise from the ICO's office, we will not be corresponding further with you regarding the
matter.
