NOT PROTECTIVELY MARKED
Mr Street,
This department does not have access to every member of staff's
personnel record therefore I do not know who or where 'PC Briggs' is or
was stationed. Can you provide more information on this matter? I
would point out in any case that any decision to move a police officer
in particular is invariably an operational one and can be for any number
of reasons including the choice of the individual concerned. As such
information relates to a named living individual it is personal
information and will not be disclosed under the freedom of information
legislation; to do so would breach the Data Protection Act 1998.
If you have local concerns as to the removal of an individual from what
is percieved to be a key role then can I suggest you write to the
division the officer was stationed at bringing your concerns to the
attention of senior officers.

NOT PROTECTIVELY MARKED
Mr Street,
We do not monitor this web site and any request to the force must be as
a result of your input to the forum. I have provided general advice and
assistance on this matter and sought clarification from you which you
have chosen not to provide.
Accordingly, I will not respond at this point other than to again
formally advise that disclosure of any personal information about a
current or previous member of the force would not be appropriate through
a public FOI disclosure.
If you are not willing to provide additional information, make a request
that does not seek personal information, or express your concerns to the
division concerned as I advised previously, then I cannot respond
otherwise.
Regards
Inspector Graeme Cuthbertson

I take it you are referring to this article from The Sunday Mail three-and-a-half years ago?
The police are not, as far as I know, obliged to provide this type of information through FOI.
Byline: By NORMAN SILVESTER
AN award-winning police officer who battled against wildlife crime has quit after being accused of telling a racist joke.
Phil Briggs allegedly used an offensive racist term in front of colleagues at a seminar at the Scottish Police Training College in Tulliallan, Fife.
Constable Briggs, of Strath-clyde Police, was suspended pending an investigation by the force's complaints and discipline department.
A report was later submitted to the procurator fiscal but no proceedings were taken.
After a disciplinary hearing at Strathclyde HQ in Pitt Street, Glasgow, Briggs was given the option of resigning. He left the force two weeks ago.
A force insider said: "Strathclyde has a zero tolerance policy towards racism. If you tell a racist joke or use racist language, it is normally an automatic sacking offence."
Briggs, 35, of Strathblane, Stirlingshire, had been in the police less than 10 years.
Last year, he won the wildlife law enforcer of the year award, beating off competition from police and Customs officers across Britain.
The award is given in recognition of exceptional work in the field of tackling wildlife crime and preventing the illegal trade of endangered species.
Briggs, a trained falconer, also led education projects on wildlife crime.
Yesterday a spokeswoman for Strathclyde Police said: "We can confirm the officer in question is no longer a serving member of the force."
After being contacted by the Mail by phone yesterday, Briggs texted back: "Sorry mate, I have no comment. I am on holiday."
