Kevin Lawrence made this Freedom of Information request to Croydon Borough Council
The request was partially successful.
From: Kevin Lawrence
18 January 2010
Dear Croydon Borough Council,
Please provide the following information about the borough's
Controlled Parking Zones, Parking Charges and Parking Meters.
(1) Please provide a list of all parking meters in the borough, by
number and location - street and location within the street, eg
outside #93.
Please provide this electronically, preferably in an XLS
spreadsheet.
Include in this list also the days and times that each meter
operates, and the charges applying.
Also include the number of bays controlled by each meter.
Naturally, many will have the same days, times and charges, and a
suitable code for each type might be helpful and less trouble,
rather than typing out the list for each meter.
(2) Where parking meters lie within a Controlled Parking Zone, then
the zone should also be specified.
Where the meter is not in a CPZ, then its area or district should
be given.
Where the meter is in an offstreet car park, that should be given
for the location rather than a street.
(3) Why do charges apply at many meters on Public Holidays?
When did this charging begin?
(4) What data does the council collect about revenue per meter?
Please provide a concise but comprehensive description.
Note, this request is not asking for the actual data itself.
(5) How does a motorist know which meter applies to which bay?
Please list where it is possible to use more than one meter for
the bay.
As most of this information must be already held electronically for
administrative reasons by the council, it should not be onerous to
provide it.
Yours faithfully,
Kevin Lawrence

Dear Morris, Valerie,
I note that the 20 working day deadline has passed without any
response being provided to my FOI Request.
This is very disappointing.
The Request was a straight forward one, and I see no reason why the
council could not provider its response within the statutory limit
of 20wd.
Please give an indication of a date by when the council expects to
provide its reply - as otherwise a reference to the ICO will become
necessary.
Yours sincerely,
Kevin Lawrence
