Dear Mr Jacobson

Thank you for your email received by Transport for London (TfL) on 4 March
2010.

You have asked for information related to passenger flow at Bank/Monument
station on the DLR platforms.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of
Information Act and I can confirm that TfL does hold the information you
require.

. Information related to passenger flow at Bank/Monument,
particularly to/from the DLR platforms. Specifically please provide
current passenger numbers entering / exiting the DLR at Bank/Monument and
projected numbers for the next five years if they are available

The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) observed data for period 8 in 2009 (from
18/10/09 to 14/11/09), and period 12 (from 07/02/10 to 6/03/10); and AM
peak hour forecasts up to 2012. Please see the table below for this data.

The demand forecasts for DLR at Bank going forward reflects the ongoing
London Underground Limited (LUL) escalator replacement programme at the
station. The figures assumed that the Jubilee line upgrade would have been
completed by late 2009 and assumed the commencement of a DLR 3 car service
to Lewisham in January 2010.

. The effect that the current 3 car extension to the DLR trains
will have on these figures

Please note the above figures include the effect (projections) of the 3
car service on the DLR. There is no additional information which expands
on the possible effects of the 3 car extension program.

. Information related to plans for easing overcrowding to/from the
DLR platforms at the station complex

DLR does not have any documented plans specifically relating to easing
congestion on its service at Bank/Monument complex. Bank/Monument is
managed by LUL and whilst DLR does liaise with their teams, DLR's
personnel are only able to substantially influence management of the small
area occupied by its service.

to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
