Dear Sir or Madam,
I am trying to check the dating of the survey that was done for the
ordnance survey map on my title plan of my property which is dated
03/1986. Land registry think this is from an ordnance survey map of
1973 but an accurate date of the survey would be helpful. Also
would there be an aerial photograph available?
Yours faithfully,
Bev

Dear Bev
Request for information - 71788
Thank you for your email dated 7 August 2009, requesting OS map 1973
Colne, Lancashire.
I regret to inform you that Ordnance Survey is unable to help you with
your enquiry as we no longer hold this information.
All of our historical mapping has been re-located to legal places of
deposit namely The National Archives and the six Legal Deposit
Libraries: The British Library; Bodleian Library Oxford; Cambridge
University Library; National Library of Scotland; Library of Trinity
College Dublin; and National Library of Wales and as public records the
mapping will be available to the public for viewing. The British
Library holds printed copies of all Ordnance Survey maps which will show
the date of survey. Their website address is
http://www.bl.uk/reshelp/findhelprestype... .
With regard to aerial photography, the earliest flight imagery we hold
is around 1992-1994. I have not provided these as they are much later
than the 1973 survey. Let me know if these would be of any help.
Please note that your enquiry has been processed to Freedom of
Information guidelines.
If you are unhappy with our response, you may raise an appeal to our
Appeals Officer at:

disclosure of additional information if appropriate.
Thank you for your enquiry.
