Mr Batsworth -

I confirm that your Request was received by the Council, and was logged as
RFI/01275 whilst I was on Leave. Unfortunately the Request was
misallocated, and I am advised that no action has so far been taken on
this. I extend my apologies for both the lack of an acknowledgement, and
for the allocation mix-up.

I have now allocated this Request to officers in the Olympics Unit to
provide a response, and I will write to you again as soon as I have some
news.

Dear Mr Soskin,

I am concerned that Greenwich Council is now far in excess of the
statutory maximum of 20 days for a response to my FOI request of
March 23rd 2009.

Since the receipt of the request was confirmed on May 5th I have
had no further communication explaining why extra time is required.

Please let me know the reason for the delay.

Yours sincerely,

Charles Batsworth

Mr Batsworth -

My sincere apologies for the delay in responding to your Request.

However, please treat this email as a Refusal Notice in accordance with
the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. The grounds for
refusing to provide this information to you are that the Request made is
excessive and could not possibly be met within the costs limit applicable
under the Act of £450 based on 18 hours officer time.

You have asked for "all expenditure to date" relating to the Olympics
including salaries, expenses and "funding of events and of any projects or
initiatives in any way related." I confirm that the Council holds or
partly holds such information, but not in a form that would be accessible
for reporting; and certainly not within the costs limit provided by
regulation.

If you wish to submit a Request which is more specific and which can be
provided within the costs limit then the Council will be happy to consider
afresh.
