9 November 2008
Dear Sir or Madam,
I would like to request a full breakdown on the grant allocations
of the Recreation and Environmental Action Programme (REAP).
I need to know how many requests were made (including the names of
unsuccessful applicants), how many were granted and to whom the
grants were allocated to, how much was granted to each project, and
how much funding(if any) is left over.
Yours faithfully,
Sóna Abantu-Choudhury

Thanks gamesmonitor.org
We got the same list - but when you actually have a look at some of the projects - it really doesn't seem to be able to add up to a million quid?!
When you consider that the REAP awards were partially meant to be granted as compensation for losing Arena Fields - there is an awful lot of resentment around Leabank Square that - as the closest estate to Arena Fields - we got a few rose bushes along Berkshire Road!!

Sona
I just noticed you sent this to the ODA - actually it was the LDA who provided the funding and Hackney Council who allocate it & manage the projects.
I've resubmitted it to Hackney Council

sorry just realised you already had sent it to Hackney Council and they've sent the information - very interesting!

Hi Charles
Sorry about the boobie - but as you saw - I also sent it to Hackney Council.
We are all pouring over the list & how much they supposedly cost. The amount spent on the Trowbridge simply does not bear/bare any relation to the pathetic landscaping they have so far done!!
Perhaps they still have yet to spend the majority of the allocation?
What would the LDA do if they found out that they have been diddled?
peace
Sóna
