A Freedom of Information request to Glasgow Council by Conor McNally

The request was successful.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I would be grateful if you could provide:

1) A copy of Glasgow City Council's policy on obstructive street
signs on pavements.

2) Reason for forced removal of unobtrusive shop advertising
placards on wide, quiet pavement at Crow Road. (As reported in
Evening Times 2-3 years ago.)

3) Reason for recent erection, and non-removal, of extremely
obstructive council advertising sign on narrow, busy pavement at
Lancefield Quay (outside City Inn).

4) Number of known complaints from public / councillors that
specifically requested the removal of (2).

5) Number of known complaints from public / councillors that
specifically requested the removal of (3).

Thank you for your time.

Yours faithfully,

Conor McNally

Dear Sir or Madam,

I wonder if you could look into what has happened my FOI request

It has now been over 20 days since I first enquired about your

19 August 2009

Dear Sir or Madam,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Glasgow Council's
handling of my FOI request 'Obstructive advertising signs on
pavements'.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is
available on the Internet at this address:
http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/ob...

The reason I am unhappy is that it does not fully answer my
original point (1). In particular, other parts of the response
refer to the following:

- "existing procedure for granting permission to place advertising
boards on the footway"

- "permanent sign erected to the required standard for signs"

I would be grateful if you could send me full copies of these
procedures and standards. If possible, I would prefer the documents
in an accessible electronic format rather than scanned jpegs (i.e.
so I can search through text and copy&paste selected passages).

Thank you for your full response to all other parts to my request.

Yours faithfully,

Conor McNally
