Dear Mr Hupfield,

Thank you for your recent request made under the Freedom of Information
Act 2000.

From the information described, we have been unable to clearly identify
the information you require.

"Educated otherwise" can cover elective home education, or could include
various other categories, e.g. those in PRUs (pupil referral units),
those unable to attend school because of medical conditions etc.

Can you please clarify the categories you require?

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 requires that we deal with requests
such as this within 20 working days. We are not required to include any
time whilst waiting for clarification of a request. We will endeavor to
proceed with your request as soon as you supply the information
required. If we have not received a reply within three months we will
treat this request as cancelled.

Please contact me if you have any queries or require any advice and
assistance regarding this request.

Dear Mrs Allen,

By "educated otherwise than at school" I mean children who are not
being educated by the state (whether that be in a school, referral
unit, college or any other centre). I am specifically interested in
the children who would come under your classification of being
electively home educated.

I hope this clarifies my request.

Yours sincerely,

Matt Hupfield.
