Dear Sir or Madam,
How many undetermined complaints have been closed by the Ombudsmen
over the last ten years? And why were they closed?
Yours faithfully,
Trevor Nunn

Dear Mr Nunn
This is to acknowledge receipt of your email request, received on Monday
28 July.
Can you clarify what you mean by 'undetermined'? Are you referring to
cases where a report has been issued and the complainant is awaiting a
remedy (in which case they would only be closed once the Ombudsman had
established that the authority was not going to provide a remedy,
usually after getting the authority to issue a statement in the press),
or are you referring to cases where the Ombudsman has not yet made a
decision on the complaint (in which case the file wouldn't be closed)?
If you could let me know, I will try and provide an answer.
Yours sincerely

Thanks for the information. I was referring to cases where the
Ombudsman has not yet made a decision on the complaint.
However, your request for clarification also includes the answer so
no more further action is needed with this request.
Thank you.
