Number of Suspended Car Parking Bays on 14/15-Nov around Frith Street?

Martin J made this Freedom of Information request to Westminster City Council

This request has been withdrawn by the person who made it. There may be an explanation in the correspondence below.

From: Martin J

18 November 2009

Dear Sir or Madam,

I notice that there were a large number of Suspended / unavailable
Resident or Shared Use car parking spaces in the area surrounding
Frith Street over the weekend of 14th / 15th November 2009 - due to
various road works, use of a large crane, long-term unavailable
bays around Soho Square (due to the Cross Rail works?), etc.

Q1a. How many Resident / Shared Use car parking spaces are being
made long-term unavailable as a result of the closure of a whole
side of Soho Square (the east side, next to Sutton Row)?

Q1b. When is it expected that these spaces (as per Q1a) will be
returned to use for parking?

Q2. INCLUDING the above mentioned long-term Suspended / unavailable
Soho Square spaces (Q1a/Q1b), how many Resident / Shared User car
parking spaces were Suspended or unavailable for part or all of the
weekend of 14th / 15th November 2009 in the area immediately around
Frith Street (i.e. Soho Square, Dean Street, Frith Street, Greek
Street, Carlisle Street, Old Compton Street)?

Q3a. How many ALTERNATIVE car parking spaces were made available in
light of this large number of Suspended / unavailable Resident /
Shared Use car parking spaces over the weekend of 14th / 15th
November 2009?

Q3b. If there were any (Q3a), how was this made known to the local
Residents?

Q3c. If there were any (Q3a), where were they?

Yours faithfully,

Martin J

Dear FOI,

1. What is FOI/4663, which you mention as being one of mine? I have
no knowledge of a FOI with that ref?

2. I am only aware of seven FOIs in the last 60 days, not ten!
Therefore, please advise my three "other" FOIs (in addition to 4476
("not held"), 4477 ("not held" - but I've further queried that),
4602, 4625, 4630, 4631 and 4643)?

3. Please clarify how FOIs 4602, 4625, 4630 and 4643 are for the
"same or similar" information?

Yours sincerely,

Martin J

I have just been advised that FOI/4663 was actually raised by Westminster City Council, themselves, *on my behalf* ! I had sent an e-mail to Councillor Danny Chalkley (& variously copied) back on *13th October* 2009, asking for the "Background Documents" as mentioned as "AVAILABLE ON REQUEST" in the 1st October Draft Cabinet Report about the Motorcycle Parking Charging Scheme. As such, I requested them! The Report makes no mention that such a request for information advised as "Available on Request" would actually be advised as being a FOI request, some SIX WEEKS after the original request!! So, what is the Target Date for completion of FOI/4663, bearing in mind that I sent my original e-mail on 13th October? If the request is being considered a FOI request, then 20 working days expired around 10th/11th November, which makes this request TWO WEEKS OVERDUE.

As such, I am request an INTERNAL REVIEW for both FOI/4663 (it is not on the WhatDoTheyKnow website, so I am using this request to do so), AND for *this* FOI, given that the information request in this FOI is NOT "the same or similar" to my other FOIs!

Dear Sir or Madam,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Westminster City
Council's handling of my FOI request 'Number of Suspended Car
Parking Bays on 14/15-Nov around Frith Street?', as well as
FOI/4663 [raised by WCC *on my behalf*] - as clarified in my
Annotation to this FOI.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is
available on the Internet at this address:

Dear FOI,

I would like to WITHDRAW this request, as this should reduce the
cost advised for the "Aggregation" of FOIs
previously advised (relating to this request, amongst others).

Yours sincerely,

Martin J

I heard about this Freedom of Information request here: http://nutsville.com/?p=1735

If that is how Westminster Council wants to play it, then maybe you should sign up for another 'What Do they Know?' account/username, or get a "friend" to put in a FOI request for you. Just a thought.
