Dear Sir or Madam,
Under the Freedom of information act please can you let me know the
number of working days lost each year for the past 10 due to
"stress, anxiety and depression"
Also please can you let me know how many employees for each were
retired on the grounds of ill-health each for the past 10 years.
Please separately state dismissals in this as well where ill health
was brought up as a factor.

Dear S. James
I have passed on your enquiry to the relevant staff and have been provided with the following information.
Our records on the number of working days lost each year due to stress, anxiety or depression only go back to 2002. These are recorded by calendar year, i.e. running from January to December. The numbers are as follows:
2002 – 298 days
2003 – 176.5 days
2004 – 241.5 days
2005 – 175 days
2006 – 216 days
2007 – 331 days
2008 – 536.5 days
2009 – 132.5 days (to 31st July 2009)
Our numbers on ill health retirements are recorded by financial year. They are as follows:
01/02 – 2
02/03 – nil
03/04 – nil
04/05 – 6
05/06 – 1
06/07 – 1
07/08 – 1
08/09 - 1
09/10 - 1
