Dear Haringey Borough Council,

Please provide the following information:

1. The number of job applications for lawyer/solicitor level roles
made to the Council's Legal Department within the last 3 years.

2. The number of job applications for lawyer/solicitor level roles
made to the Council's Legal Department by Muslim males within the
last 3 years.

3. How many of the above applications by Muslim males have been
successful.

4. How many Muslim males currently work as lawyers/Solicitors for
the Council and how many have worked as lawyers/Solicitors on a
yearly basis over the last 3 years.

5. Has the Council ever looked at the above as an issue of concern
and at what level in the Council's corporate structure was it
considered.

If the above data is not available for the period of 3 years then
please provide it for the period for which it is available.

people that applied for particular roles) may be held on record, we do not
have all the information that you have asked for.

I attach a copy of our Recruitment Monitoring Form. This form is provided
as part of the application process, although completion of it is
voluntary. This is where information about ethnicity and religion are
requested, and shows the categories we use.

I attach our employee profile which provides detailed information about
Haringey's employees. However, it does not break down the information into
the categories you mentioned (lawyers and solicitors). I hope you will
find this useful. Haringey's Legal Service is part of the Corporate
Resources Directorate.

Question 5 on your request is a query rather than a request for recorded
information. If you provide more detail about what you mean by "Has the
Council ever looked at the above as an issue of concern" we can direct
your correspondence to the appropriate officer for a response.

We have not dealt with your enquiry as a formal Freedom of Information Act
request at this stage. Having considered the information that we have
provided, you may want to consider submitting a specific request for
copies of information held by the council.
