Number of graduates and number of requests to validate qualifications

Dear Mr. Fawcett,

Thank you for your email of 27^th April 2009 requesting information
about the number of graduates and requests to validate qualifications in
2006-2008.  I am pleased to enclose the requested information.  

i. How many students graduated from your establishment
in 2006?

In academic year 2005-06 5,605 students graduated with University of
Liverpool degrees.

ii. How many students graduated from your establishment
in 2007?

In academic year 2006-07 5,103 students graduated with University of
Liverpool degrees.

iii. How many students graduated from your establishment
in 2008?

In academic year 2007-08 5,286 students graduated with University of
Liverpool degrees.

iv. How many requests, from external individuals or
organisations, to confirm the degree qualification of a former student at
your establishment, were received in 2006?

In the period from the 1^st January 2006 to the 31^st December 2006 1,196
such requests were received and dealt with.

v. How many requests, from external individuals or
organisations, to confirm the degree qualification of a former student at
your establishment, were received in 2007?

In the period from the 1^st January 2007 to the 31^st December 2007 1,142
such requests were received and dealt with.

vi. How many requests, from external individuals or
organisations, to confirm the degree qualification of a former student at
your establishment, were received in 2008?

In the period from the 1^st January 2008 to the 31^st December 2008 1,345
such requests were received and dealt with.

If you are not satisfied with the University’s response to your request,
you may ask the University to review it.  If you wish to do this, please
write to Mr. Kevan Ryan, Director of Legal Services, The University of

enclosing a copy of your original request and explaining your complaint.
