Dear Lynn,
Freedom of Information Act 2000 - Request for Information
I am writing in respect of your recent enquiry for information held by the
Authority under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act.
Please find the information you requested enclosed.
Number of electively home educated children known to your LA in academic
year 2008-09.
At the end of July 2009 there were 60 home educated pupils known to
Wakefield LA.
However this does not include 28 Y11 pupils who were home educated but
left statutory education at the end of June. If we include children who
were home educated for a short period in the academic year 2008/9 but at
some point returned to school or left the area the total number of pupils
is 111.
If you have any queries concerning the information we have sent to you
please do not hesitate to contact me on the above number.
Yours sincerely
Galina Smithson
