Dear Sir or Madam,

Since Part III of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 came into
force, how many complaints of domestic or non-industrial/commercial
noise nuisance have been reported to Pendle Borough Council, how
many Abatement Notices have been served by the council for
statutory noise nuisance in residential properties and how many
items of equipment have been seized by the council from residential
properties committing statutory noise nuisance.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Further to your request, the statistics you require are as follows:-

Since 1/11/1990 (Enforcement of Part III EPA Act 1990) and today
26/3/2009 we have received 6093 domestic noise complaints broken down as:-

Domestic noise disturbance 856
Amplified music 2345
Barking dogs 1785
Other noisy animals 62
DIY/Car repair 132
House Alarms 140
Entertainment 391
Music in Streets/Loudspeakers 88
Car Alarms 34
Other noise 260

No equipment has been seized

The number of Abatement notices served from 1/11/1990 and 26/3/2009 is
684.
