Dear Mr Walker,

I am writing in response to your email dated 15 January 2010 requesting information about the Norwich Independent Climate Change Commission.

Please find the information given below.

1. What will be the cost to the tax payers of Norwich of the Norwich Independent Climate Change Commission?

The Norwich Independent Climate Change Commission has spent £24 on refreshments for 3 Board meetings that have been held so far. We expect that there will be another 3 or 4 Board meetings before the consultation exercise is completed, so approximately a further £30-£40 of costs may be incurred. All other costs have been met internally and from existing resources.

The Board membership includes a range of local scientists, and representatives from local, faith groups, governmental organisations, media and political parties, and all are providing their services at no charge.

Support from the local media, and other communication techniques (eg a Facebook page) are also provided at no cost.

The NICCC consultation paper was created using City Council existing resources, comprising the Environmental Strategy team and the Design and Print Production team. There are no printing costs as it has been distributed by electronic means. The consultation process is aiming to gather a wide range of public and business views about environmental issues, and the results will be used to inform the development of the City Council's next 5 year environmental strategy.

2. Please supply copies of correspondence entered into between the council and any other person regarding the setting up of this commission.
