Dear Mr Bourne
In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act, I have now processed
your request. Please find the requested information supplied below.
The cost of Norfolk Open Link was £911,668 (ex VAT) which was funded by a
grant from East of England Development Agency. This covered the design,
installation and management of a wireless network across a number of
defined areas of Norwich city and suburbs for a limited period (June 2006
- June 2008). The contract for the project was awarded using competitive
tender. The costs can be summarised as follows:
Equipment (including the provision of 360 wireless access points on street
locations and the provision of backhaul infrastructure) - £329,706
Network Circuits (installation and annual rental) - £37,766
Services (including technical surveys, design, technical monitoring &
investigation, project management, helpdesk & support services, service
management, installation of access points and backhaul equipment and
removal at end of project) - £544,196
