Suffolk County Council did not have the information requested.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I would like to view details about the nightsafe scheme. I have the
following questions:

- How many people have been given anti social community orders ?

- How many people have appealed ?

- Which ones were successful ?

- How are decisions to ban individuals reached ?

- How are people wrongly issued with bans compensated for the
public humiliation ?

Yours faithfully,

Marcus Leversha

Dear Mr Leversha

Thank you for your Freedom of Information (FOI) request received on 17
April 2009 regarding Nightsafe in Suffolk.

We have been informed that the 'Nightsafe' scheme is a banner that is used
over a variety of projects. Suffolk County Council uses it as a branding
more than anything else and is not involved in giving 'anti-social
community orders' or in the banning process mentioned.

All the banning decisions relating to licensed premises are made by
Pubwatch and Clubwatch banning committees. These are made up of the
relevant licencees in any given area.

We are told that Suffolk Constabulary also has some involvement in the
administration of the banning schemes and on the basis of that, we suggest
that you may find it helpful to forward your request accordingly. We have
included contact details below.
