NI equivalent to Audit Commission Act?

Richard Jackson made this Freedom of Information request to Northern Ireland Audit Office

The request was successful.

From: Richard Jackson

5 July 2008

Dear Sir or Madam,

It is my understanding that, in England, local councils are
required to open their accounting records to the public for a brief
period each year under the Audit Commission Act. Can you tell me if
there is an equivalent Order in Northern Ireland, and if so whether
you have the dates when this will apply for each Council in
Northern Ireland.

Yours faithfully,

Richard
