Dear Mr. Farnet

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REF: 2010-558

I am responding to your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000,
which we received on 5 August 2010, for information held by the Council.
You requested:

Please supply list of and copies of internal documents proposing savings
opportunities to meet new government's cuts, front-line facing or
back-office as proposals, project initiation documents, option papers,
business plans, business cases, board/committee papers. if these are
unfinished, still give copies.

I confirm that we do hold information on proposed saving opportunities.

The paper at the link below proposes that the Cabinet cuts revenue
spending in 2010/11 by £2.9 million. This was presented at the Cabinet
meeting on 22 July 2010.

You request asks for more information about proposed savings than is
contained in the document, we have decided to withhold this information
for cost reasons. Section 12 of FOIA allows public authorities to refuse
requests for information where the cost of dealing with them would exceed
the appropriate limit, which for local government is set at £450. This
represents the estimated cost of one person spending 2.5 working days or
18 hours in locating, retrieving and extracting the information.

We estimate that it will exceed the appropriate limit to locate, extract
and retrieve all information in relation to the proposals. If you are able
to narrow the focus of your request then we will might be able to assist
you further.

Complaints

I trust this has satisfied your request. Should you be unhappy with the
handling of your request, the Council has an internal complaints process
for handling FOI Act complaints. Complaints are reviewed by the Town Clerk
and Chief Executive or his nominee. A form is available from our website
