Dear Sir or Madam,

I refer to Mount Pleasant Playing Fields which is located down
Fairway street within Waltham.

Approximately April the old climbing frame/swings/old play area was
taken down. I would like to know the principal reason for this?

Was it for renovation issues, health and safety issues? or old age?

I am concerned as I have a friend who used to take his children on
there regularly and now has nowhere locally to take them.

Good afternoon,

Here is the response to your freedom of information.

I have spoken to Alan Fletcher (Parks and Open Spaces manager) who says
that the play area was removed because of old age. The area is being
looked at for a new play area development, but Mr Wood's friend has
another play area available within the Mount Pleasant Playing Fields
approximately 200 metres away on the Western area of the park. Could you
please forward this information to Mr. Wood.
