Thank you for your enquiry below.
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, an enquirer is entitled to be told whether the information which they are requesting exists, and if it does to receive a copy of that information unless one of the limited exemptions under the Act applies.
Please see the refusal notice below which explains why the University of Birmingham is not providing the information requested.

Section 21 - Freedom of information Act 2000 - Information reasonably accessible by other means.
Section 21 is an absolute exemption, and is therefore not subject to the Public Interest Test.
The University of Birmingham conducted a survey in 2008 asking staff and students how they travel to the University. The results of this survey can be found at http://www.bham.ac.uk/travel/surveys.shtml. Comparable data for 1995 can also be found on these pages.
If you are unhappy with the manner in which your request has been dealt with, you may ask for an internal review. A copy of the Complaints and Appeals procedure can be found at: http://www.legalservices.bham.ac.uk/foi/.... If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have a right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision.
