Dear Sir or Madam,
Please state what plans there are for the military personnel and
their families, who are based at Woolwich barracks, in the lead up
to and during the 2012 shooting events of the Olympic Games. Will
they be moved out? If so, for how long, will they be compensated
and by how much?
Yours faithfully,
Albie Fox

Dear Mr Fox
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION - CASE NO: 08-06-2009-151425-004
Thank you for your e-mail of 6 June, asking about plans to move service
personnel and their families during the 2012 Olympic Games shooting events
in Woolwich.
Your correspondence has been considered to be a request for information
(RFI) in accordance with the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000 and I
am responsible for processing your enquiry. You asked:
`...what plans there are for the military personnel and their families,
who are based at Woolwich barracks, in the lead up to and during the 2012
shooting events of the Olympic Games. Will they be moved out? If so, for
how long, will they be compensated and by how much?'
There are no plans to move service personnel and their families from their
homes during the 2012 Olympic Games shooting events. Extensive safety
planning has taken place and concluded that there is no need to move
service families from their accommodation. All quartering areas will be
clear of risk from gun ranges.
I hope that this reply is helpful.
Yours sincerely
Kathryn Winmill
