Department for Children, Schools and Families
22 July 2008
Dear Mr Davidson,
Thank you for your email dated 26 June 2008 about meetings between the
Department for Children, Schools and Families, (DCSF), and United
Learning Trust, (ULT).
In light of the fact that ULT were set up specifically to sponsor a
number of Academies, we have interpreted your request to be concerned
with meetings between ULT and members and Ministers of the Department
with responsibilities in the Academies programme and have restricted our
search accordingly.
Unfortunately, despite this narrowing of scope, the estimated cost of
processing your request exceeds the £600 cost threshold and therefore I
cannot proceed with your request on cost grounds. It may be possible to
provide you with some of the information you requested if you are
prepared to limit the scope of your request. For example, if you are
looking for information about a specific area of Academies policy or on
a particular ULT sponsored Academy. If you would like to do this,
please contact me.
If you have any queries about this letter, please contact me. Please
remember to quote the reference number above in any future
communications.
If you are unhappy with the way the Department has handled your request
you may ask for an internal review. You should also contact me if you
wish to complain.
If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have
the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a
decision.
Yours sincerely,
Sean Hurley
