Detica provides well publicised services to many parts of the Home Office 'group' (the group being everywhere that is ultimately the responsibility of the Home Secretary): its headquarters, agencies (for example the UK Borders Agency for eBorders) and partners or 'arms-length bodies' in HO-parlance (for example, the NPIA).

Many Detica staff work full-time on Home Office projects, often in customer offices and therefore meetings occur many times a day.

I suggest you need to be more specific about the areas of the Home Office and the type of meetings you are interested in. I very much doubt that the records kept of meetings ("The act or process or an instance of coming together; an encounter") at the water-cooler between Detica and HO staff are up to much!

I suggest you are more specific. Perhaps put in a request to the NPIA asking what the total cost of consultancy has been for Detica staff working on internal projects in last FY, along with first 2 quarters this year.

Interesting stuff. Can it really take so long? Detica is also working with BT and Virgin Media. Virgin Media has announced they plan to use Detica's CView product to intercept and review the private confidential data which their customers send or receive via their internet connection. How can they do that? Surely it's illegal without a warrant? Well, it is, but it seems like uk gov thinks it's ok... It's contrary to RIPA 2000 and the PECR laws. So keep asking about Deltica and ISPs because we should have private communication as a right. They do not need to use Deep Packet Inspection to stop illegal file sharing at all. I support the use of warrants when needed to spy on illegal activity but not on mass! Like Phorm, and BT Webwise, they should be stopped. Don't drop this FOI, it is am important one. Good luck.

Dr. Geraint Bevan - you should put this in the hands of the ICO.

The ICO will take a long time to investigate (which is all the more reason for asking them earlier rather than later) but they can compel the Home Office to release this information.

This is something I find interesting. This FOI request is about Detica (a "Phorm-Like" company), and is there any coincidence in the fact that I cannot get a reply to my FOI about Phorm?
