Luton Station replacement

Ethan Wilson made this Freedom of Information request to Luton Borough Council

The request was successful.

From: Ethan Wilson

9 February 2010

Dear Luton Borough Council,

Andrew Adonis, Secretary of State for Transport recently announced
that investment would be given to a number of the worst stations on
the UK network for improvements. It has been announced that Luton
Station was on that list.

Can you please confirm that Luton station will be receiving
investment, how much is being invested, and when the work will take
place.

It has been stated by FCC that a new station will be built. Will
this be on the site of the existing station, or at another site?

Why do all of the road signs for Luton station state 'Central
station', when this does not form part of the station name?

Yours faithfully,

Ethan Wilson
