Dear Sir or Madam,

Out of those cases still on record which one has remained
undetermined for the longest period of time?

What was the reason for the delay?

What was the subject of the complaint?

Which Ombudsman/Ombudsmen were involved?

Yours faithfully,

Trevor Nunn

Dear Mr Nunn

This is to acknowledge receipt of your email request, received on
Wednesday 23 July.

Can you clarify what you mean by 'undetermined'? Are you referring to
cases where a report has been issued and the complainant is awaiting a
remedy, or are you referring to cases where the Ombudsman has not yet
made a decision on the complaint?

If you could let me know, I will try and provide an answer.

Yours sincerely

Dear Hilary Pook,

Thank you for your response.

I seek to identify, from the records you still have, what is the
longest period of time a complainant has ever had to wait for a
Local Government Ombudsman to make a decision regarding their case?

Yours sincerely,

Trevor Nunn

Dear Mr Nunn

I am afraid I have too little information from you to identify your
case. You will need to either provide me with the reference number or
your address. Although we have complaints registered from a Mr T R Nunn,
I need to be sure it is you before discussing any details about them.

Yours sincerely

Dear Hilary Pook,

I refer you back to my Freedom of Information Request and later
clarification. 'I seek to identify, from the records you still
have, what is the longest period of time a complainant has ever had
to wait for a Local Government Ombudsman to make a decision
regarding their case?'

If you had answered the question correctly you would have
identified the case in question because it exceeds the case you
quoted by some 268 days.

Yours sincerely,

Trevor Nunn

Dear Mr Nunn

I have answered you FOI request correctly according to the records on
our database.

If you have an issue with the way your complaint has been dealt with,
you should contact whoever has been dealing with your complaint about
this. It is not a Freedom of Information issue.

Dear Hilary Pook,

I accept you have answered my FOI request according to the records
on your database. It's just a shame the records on your database
are incomplete and as such not fit for the purpose.

As a result, I see no point in anyone submitting a Freedom of
Information request to the Local Government Ombudsman's office
whilst you rely on a database that is clearly incomplete and out of
date.

I thought that this was a Freedom of Information issue and that's
why I tried to bring it to your attention, however, I now accept
your assurance that the inaccuracy of the database which you use to
supply Freedom of Information responses is not a Freedom of
Information issue and will try an alternative means of bringing
this problem to someone's attention.

Yours sincerely,

Trevor Nunn
