Location of street works in Islington 2009-2010

The request was successful.

Dear Islington Borough Council,

I should be grateful for a spreadsheet of the location and nature of street works carried out in islington during the 2009-2010 financial year or similar convenient reporting period (eg CY 2009).

By street works i mean broadly either digging up the road and making it good again or repairing a hole or fault in the road or other analagous works on the road.

There is much public interest in street works - they cause traffic congestion, noise and inconvenice. I should like to determine the distribution of street works in the borough.

I note that you are required to maintain a street works register under section 53 of the new roads and street works act 1991. If this register covers more than say 85% of street works in the borough then that would be sufficient in meeting this request. You publish some of this data via your website GIS service, but that is poorly executed and hard to use with little sense of the totality.

If Islington has a copy of TfLs street works register for red routes and other routes they maintain in Islington i should like a copy of that too.

Please provide this information in electronic form, preferably a spreadsheet or CSV file with location details, nature of works, contractor and date in a discreet column or columns including post code if possible.

If this request can be met in part with one part quicker than the other please forward me information in sections as soon as it becomes available.

If you have any queries about this request please contact me via this service.

I look forward to hearing from you within the 20 day statutory response period.

Yours faithfully,

william perrin
