Dear Sir or Madam,
I would like to know,
a) how many findings of maladministration the local government
ombudsman has made against your council over the last 10 years.
b) how many findings of maladministration your council, either in
full or in part, has refused to accept.
c) how many findings of maladministration your council has accepted
but refused to comply, either in full or in part, with the local
government ombudsman's recommended remedy.

Dear A Johnson
thank you for your recent request made under the Freedom of Information
Act concerning maladministration and the Ombudsman.
I can confirm that given the Ombudsman records there have been 3 cases
of maladministration against the city council in the last 10 years and
Canterbury has always accepted the findings/remedies. Further
information can be obtained from Hilary Pook, Ombudsman office, 10th
floor, Millbank Tower, Millbank, London sw1p 4qp
If you are unhappy with the way your enquiry has been dealt with, you
may ask for an internal review through the council's 'comments and
complaints scheme', by e-mailing [email address]
<mailto:[email address]> or by following the procedure
set out in the council's website page. Alternatively you can telephone
Matthew Archer on 01227 862 175 or Janet Taylor on 01227 862 017.
If you are still dissatisfied after an internal review, you may appeal
to the Information Commissioner, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow
SK9 5AF.
