Dear Mrs Johnson

I'm replying to your request for information made under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000, in which you asked:

a) How many findings of maladministration the local government
ombudsman has made against your council over the last 10 years.
From April 1998 to March 2008, 16 findings of maladministration were
made against the Council by the Local Government Ombudsman. Of these, 4
were findings of maladministration without injustice (of which 3 related
to the same complaint) and 12 were findings of maladministration causing
injustice (of which 4 related to 2 complaints).

b) How many findings of maladministration your council, either in
full or in part, has refused to accept.
The Council has not refused to accept any findings of maladministration
by the Local Government Ombudsman.

c) How many findings of maladministration your council has
accepted but refused to comply, either in full or in part, with the
local government ombudsman's recommended remedy.
The Council has not refused to comply, either in full or in part, with
the Local Government Ombudsman's recommended remedy following a finding
of maladministration.
