Dear Mrs Johnson
I am writing further to your Freedom of Information Request.
You have requested the following information:
You have asked for details of how many findings of maladministration the
Local Government Ombudsman has made against your council over the last 10
years.
Since 2000/2001 there has been a total of three maladministration findings
made against the Council (the three findings of maladministration were
made in 2001/2002). There have been no findings of maladministration
reported since this date. You have asked for figures relating back 10
years, unfortunately the Council does not hold details of Ombudsman
decisions prior to 2000/2001.
You have asked for details of how many findings of maladministration your
council, either in full or in part, has refused to accept.
The Council has not refused to comply with any findings of
maladministration in respect of the figures provided above.
You have asked for details of how many findings of maladministration your
council has accepted but refused to comply, either in full or in part,
with the Local Government Ombudsman's recommended remedy.
The Council has not refused to comply, either in full or in part, with the
Local Government Ombudsman's recommended remedy in respect of the figures
provided above.
I hope this information is helpful. If you are dissatisfied with the
information provided or the way in which we have dealt with your request,
you can make a complaint under the Council's Complaints Procedure. Please
write to William Benson, Director of Change and Business Support, at
Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, Town Hall, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent,
TN1 1RS or via e-mail to [email address] requesting a
review of the decision. You can find details of our Complaints Procedure
on our website at www.tunbridgewells.gov.uk .
We will aim to deal with your complaint within 20 working days. If you
remain dissatisfied following our review, you can then appeal to the
