The submission of the Care Commission made reference to the grades

Hi George
I am emailing in response to your recent enquiry for our a copy of the
statistics provided to the Local Government and Communities Committee. I
have been informed that this information was done as an ad-hoc query and
therefore is not part of a larger report. We are in the process of
writing a report on grading for 2008/09, which should be available late
August/September.
Meanwhile, information about grading for individual services is available
via our web based register.
I hope this is helpful and if you have any further queries please do not
hesitate to contact me.

Dear Heather,
Thank you for getting back to me clarifying the status of the
information that I have requested. In line with my original query
could you please send me a copy of the ad-hoc query that underlies
the submission to the committee?
I am aware that the grades are available from your website for
individual services but I guess what I am looking for is a list of
provider organisations, registered services, data of inspection and
the grades awarded - so even if this ad-hoc query is no longer
available would it be possible to get this information in a more
usable format than having to look each service up on your website?
Thanks,
George

Hi George,
I am emailing in response to your request which is detailed below. Having
tracked down the original source of the ad-hoc query in question, it seems
this was done on a very small number of services and therefore is neither
a robust or indicative measure of our grading statistics to date.
From previous correspondence you will be aware that we are working on a
comprehensive report concerning grading for 2008/2009 which will be
available soon.
In the meantime the most usable format to get grades for individual
services would still be our web based register at
[1]www.carecommission.com
I hope this information is of use to you.

Dear Mark
Thanks for clarifying the status of the data and that it might not
be complete or accurate - that is fine.
Could you clarify when you say a "small number of services" how
that is different from "graded services 07 April 2009" as that is
how the data was presented in the submission to the Scottish
Parliament?
Since you have acknowledged that you have the information and that
you have not said that it is exempt could I please get the
information that I have request?

Hi George,
Having confirmed the details of this request with our information
analysts, please refer to the following link:
[1]http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/s3/com...
All data in this ad-hoc query you refer to is included in this report. The
actual source data used to run this query ('Graded Inspections 07 April
2009') includes personal and irrelevant data which we cannot release.
However, what I can send you is a list of Support Services (Care at Home)
in Scotland on the public list including grades?
If you could let me know I will arrange to have these sent as soon as
possible.

Mark
Thanks for this, I have been looking over the spreadsheets and have
noticed that some services that are registered and have been
inspected some time ago are not listed, is there a reason for this?
One example might be Turning Point Scotland - Inverclyde
(CS2004077576) is not on the list but on your website is listed as
being duel registered as Housing Support and Care at Home and was
last inspected on 1 Oct 2008.
Thanks
