Local Government Act 1992

brian ovens made this Freedom of Information request to Department for Communities and Local Government

The request was partially successful.

From: brian ovens

25 May 2010

Dear Department for Communities and Local Government,

Letter concerning the Local Government Act 1992

Can I have through the Freedom of Information act the following?

1. A full list of all the Members of Parliament who signed this
bill through?

2. Can I have a list of all the members of the House of Lords who
signed this bill through?

3. Did the Queen give the bill Royal consent?

4. Can I have any minutes from all the meetings held in discussing
the Bill coming into force?

5. Were the British public made fully aware of the terms and
conditions of the bill, i.e, were the British people sent by post
the full terms and conditions of the bill so as they could fully
understand it?

6. If any part of the Bill has been amended since 1992, has the
British public been informed of the changes in the Bill? If not,
why not?

7. Does the legislation of this Bill over rule the "bill of rights
1689", it says in the 1992 act that a court can give an order to
redeem the payment without going to court. The bill of rights 1689
makes clear that no one can lose anything, money/property etc
without being convicted in court.

Yours faithfully,

b ovens

I am writing regarding your e-mail of 25/5/10 requesting information
about The Local Government Act 1992 . I am considering your request under
the Freedom of Information Act 2000

The Department reasonably requires further clarification of the entire
request in order to identify and locate the information that you have
requested.

In these circumstances, I will not be able to take your request further
without clarification from you. In particular it would be useful to
know the following. There were 2 Local Government Acts in 1992 - The Local
Government Act, which brought in changes to the Audit Commission and the
Local Commission for England, and the Local Government (Finance) Act 1992,
which introduced Council Tax to the United Kingdom. Please could you
clarify which Act you are enquiring about. In addition, your e-mail makes
reference to court orders. Please could you clarify which section of the
relevant Act you mean here.

The twenty working days in which the Department has to respond to your FOI
request will begin on the day after we receive clarification of your
request.

If I have not heard from you by 1 September I shall regard your request as
having lapsed.
