18 November 2009
Dear Mr Lister
On the 16 November you requested how many searches have been produced
since the introduction of the Home Information Pack regulations to the
date of this request.
As of 1 April 2009 Kennet, North Wiltshire, Salisbury and North Wiltshire
District Councils and Wiltshire County Council ceased to exist and a
unitary authority, Wiltshire Council, was created.
Please see the following responses:
EAST HUB - (formerly Kennet District Council)
Box E on the Con 29R must be completed for the search to be in compliance
with HIP regulations.
Please find below the number of searches received at the former Kennet
District Council and the newly formed Wiltshire Council - East Hub which
had completed Box E:-
Kennet District Council = 374
Wiltshire Council East = 6 (this is an approximation as we do not need to
keep records of HIP compliant searches).
We are unable to comment on personal searches as to whether they are HIP
compliant or not.
SOUTH HUB - (formerly Salisbury District Council)
The number of full HIP Searches from 1 August 2007 to date = 279.
This again does not include personal searches.
NORTH HUB - (formerly North Wiltshire District Council)
The records of searches only show the total number of standard searches
which would include the Con29R required for Hips (at the North Hub they do
not keep records of HIP compliant searches only) the figures are:-
Under North Wiltshire District Council = 1952
Under Wiltshire Council = 543
WEST HUB - (formerly West Wiltshire District Council)
We are unable to differentiate between searches for HIPs and those not for
HIPs so therefore we have to give you the total of full local authority
searches received.
From 1 August 2007 until 31 March 2009 under West Wiltshire District
Council = 2538
Since 1 April 2009 under Wiltshire Council = 785
The Council has not withheld any information in relation to this request
under the exemptions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
I hope the information received is what you were expecting. However if
you are unhappy with what has been provided, you can raise a complaint
under the Council's Freedom of Information Complaints Procedure (attached)
