Dear Mr Lister
I must apologise for the delay in providing the information that you requested.
Cheshire West and Chester was formed on 1st April 2009 under local government reorganisation bringing together three district councils with part of the County Council. This is involving the amalgamation of three different sets of search records and three different computer systems. The effect of this has meant that finding the information has been quite difficult.
The total number of searches carried out by the authorities between 1st August 2007 when the Regulations started to apply to certain classes of property and 31st October 2009 was 22,393. This figure includes all searches full searches, LLC1’s, personal searches and searches which involve selectable questions.
