Loading Bay markings (Diagram 1028.3)
Gareth Morgan made this Freedom of Information request to Department for Transport
The request was successful.
From: Gareth Morgan
13 July 2009
Dear Sirs
Re: Loading Bay markings (TSRGD Diagram 1028.3)
I note that a number of loading bays within the County of
Nottinghamshire are marked with markings similar to those
prescribed by Diagram 1028.3, but with a width significantly less
than the minimum prescribed by the Regulations.
I would like to understand whether Nottinghamshire County Council
has recently sought or received guidance on such markings, and
whether the Secretary of State has issued any authorisation to use
non-prescribed variants of the Diagram.
I therefore request that under the terms of the Freedom of
Information Act you provide the following:
(1) Copies of any correspondence held by the Department (including
letters, faxes, e-mails, or notes of telephone conversations)
received from Nottinghamshire County Council since 01 January 2009
which request guidance on the marking of loading bays.
(2) Copies of any correspondence sent by the Department (including
letters, faxes, e-mails, or notes of telephone conversations)
specifically to Nottinghamshire County Council since 01 January
2009 which provide guidance on the marking of loading bays.
(3) Details of any authorisations for the use of any non-prescribed
signs or markings granted to Nottinghamshire County Council since
01 January 2009.
I hope that I have framed this request sufficiently tightly that
the workload imposed on the Department is minimised. However, if
you believe this request to be more onerous than necessary, I would
be happy to receive suggestions as to how to reframe the request.
I look forward to hearing from you shortly.
Yours faithfully,
Gareth Morgan
