Litter fines imposed in Sefton Borough Council

Mr G Morton made this Freedom of Information request to Sefton Borough Council

The request was successful.

From: Mr G Morton

9 March 2010

Dear Sefton Borough Council,

Please could you provide me with statistics on how many people were
fined for dropping litter (Clean Neighbourhood and Environment Act
2005) in the Sefton area for the years since this Act was
established up to the present year, if possible. It would also be
helpful if you could provide details of where these fines were
incurred, that is which towns. Information would be much
appreciated.

Yours faithfully,

Mr Morton

Dear Mr Morton,
Further to your Freedom of Information Request above.
To clarify fines ( fixed penalty notices ) are issued under the
Environmental Protection Act 1990 and not the Clean Neighbourhood and
Environment Act 2005.I have therefore interpreted your request as such
and provided the information relating to this Act ( see attached).
I trust this will answer your request, however if it does not please
could specify in more detail the information you require.
Regards
Steve

Well, the information provided was not exactly what I was after. I wanted statistics for places like Maghull, Lydiate, Aintree, and Walton. These places were excluded, my personal view is that the numbers of people fined would be lower than those provided.
