The OFT has previously allowed checks to confirm that organisations
hold CCLs under the Freedom of Information act. However the OFT
does not seem to allow users to search for licence holders on their
website. Should the OFT hold an electronic listing of such licence
holders I would like to request a subset containing the names and
business addresses of licence holders to help build a site where
consumers can search for details of licence holders and confirm
that an organisation holds a license. The subset of data I would
like includes:

* Organisation name

* Licence number

* Business address

Thank you Margaret for your prompt response - I found the register
using Google in the meantime. May I suggest you add a link to the
register to your site map to help others find it? It was the first
place I looked and could only find details of applying for a
license.
