Dear Mr Woodley

Further to your recent Freedom of Information request which we received on
4 January 2010, please find our response below.

a) addresses and rateable values of Commercial properties that are within
Shropshire Council up to a rateable value of **12,000 who are eligible
for, but not currently receiving small business rate relief; and
b) the names of the owners of those properties referred to in (a)

Thank you for your request for information. Unfortunately, in this
instance we are unable to process your request.

A full list of all such properties would include sole traders and small
businesses working from domestic premises. The list would therefore
include personal information about these proproprietors and to release the
information you have requested would be a breach of the Data Protection
Act. Unfortunately we are not able to differentiate between sole traders
and others business, and we are therefore not able to provide a shortened
list that does not include this personal information.
Therefore, this information is exempt from disclosure under S40 of the
Freedom of Information Act - Personal Information, on the basis that we
cannot ensure that it will not include personal information.
In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 this letter is a
refusal notice to your request. If you are unhappy with the way your
request has been handled, you may ask for an internal review. Please
contact The Information Governance Team, Audit Services, Shropshire
