I have dealt with this in accordance with the Freedom of Information
(Scotland) Act 2002 and respond to your request as follows :

Your Request(s) :

i would like the full information on the following please....

1. how much liquid assets (cash) does central Scotland police have
sitting idle in bank accounts?
2. can you give me a full list of banks and building societies and tell
me how much money there is in each one,
3. and how much interest has been made off these assets?

Response :

1. Central Scotland Police Force has no idle assets (cash) in bank
accounts. Stirling Council manage the Treasury Management function
for Central Scotland Police Force and any cleared balances over £10k
are transferred over to Stirling Council's bank account and dealt with
through our normal treasury management activities whether it be
covering cash flow requirements or being invested to cover future cash
flow requirements.
2. As the Treasury Management function is managed on our behalf by
Stirling Council, I can advise that Central Scotland Police force do
not have a list of banks and building societies, the account is held
and managed by Stirling Council. Part 1, Section 17, 1 (b) of the
Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 requires Central Scotland
Police to advise you that we do not hold the information you have
requested.
3. Central Scotland Police have been awarded interest as follows :
2006/07 £78,992, 2007/08 £33,879, 2008/09 £55,703 from invested
funds.

You should be aware that Central Scotland Police hold the Copyright for

Further to your enquiry :

The information in relation to what investments this interest is from is
not held by Central Scotland Police, as explained previously as the
Treasury Management function is managed on our behalf by Stirling Council,
they would hold any information regarding interest and investment income
details. The interest is declared in our published Annual Accounts which

Page 11 (for 2008/09). These funds have not been invested in other
projects but as you can see from our Accounts forms part of the income by
which we operate.
