Licensed Premises: Performing Arts

John King made this Freedom of Information request to Department for Culture, Media and Sport

The request was refused by Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

From: John King

7 June 2009

Dear Sir or Madam,

In response to Gerry Sutcliffe's written answer on 21st may 2009 to
Greg Knight's question regarding Licensed premises and performing
arts.

Gerry Sutcliffe stated that the Licensing Act 2003 has made it
easier for licensed premises to provide live entertainment.

Does the minister have any statistical evidence to demonstrate that
there has been an increase in the number of live music performances
in licenced premises, with which to support this statement?

Yours faithfully,

John King

Dear Mr King,

Thank you for your email.

I am afraid that it appears we did not receive your original request - I have searched our correspondence systems, as all incoming emails are stored for a period of time for our records, and your request is not there. All incoming FOI requests are acknowledged as soon as possible after receipt.

I am assuming it is the request I have now found on whatdotheyknow.com. However, as you do not appear to be asking for recorded information, your enquiry would not fall to be dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act. If you would like DCMS to deal with your enquiry, please do resend your email to [email address], where it will be forwarded to the head of the sport and leisure correspondence desk of the Public Engagement and Recognition Unit. A member of their team will then respond to your enquiry.

If you would like any further help or have any queries please contact:
