Licence checking

Tristan Young made this Freedom of Information request to Highways Agency

The request was successful.

From: Tristan Young

7 May 2009

Dear Sir or Madam,

I wish to make a request under the Freedom of Information act 2000.

Please could you tell me if the Highways Agency checks the driving
licences of (a) those employees who use the Highways Agency’s fleet
of vehicles; and (b) those employees who use their own vehicles for
Highways Agency business?

I would also like to know how the licences are checked, (eg visual
inspection by a more senior member of staff/HR dept or checked with
DVLA database) and how often the checks are made?

Yours faithfully,

Tristan Young
