LGO investigations.

Trevor R Nunn made this Freedom of Information request to Arun District Council

The request was successful.

From: Trevor R Nunn

7 January 2009

Dear Sir or Madam,

During the last five years how many times has the Local Government
Ombudsman (as a result of investigating a complaint against Arun
District Council) brought to the attention of the council the fact
that a member of Arun District Council staff had misled them, lied
to them or done anything else to hinder their investigation. If
they have what disciplinary action was taken against the
individual(s) concerned by the council.

Yours faithfully,

Trevor R Nunn

Dear Mr Nunn,

Thank you for your recent Freedom of Information request which has been
passed to me to deal with.

I have now had the opportunity to liaise with my colleague who administers
the Corporate Complaints Process and she advises as follows:-

We only keep the last three years' LGO complaints. I am not aware of any
instance in that period where the LGO has indicated that a member of staff
has misled or lied to them or hindered an investigation in any way.

I trust this deals with your request satisfactorily.

Kind regards

Sue
